Get ready for a Halloween night like no other — this year, Trunk or Treat returns to Dirt Oval 66 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois on October 25. This family-friendly event kicks off a spook-tacular evening of demolition derby, treats, and high-octane entertainment as part of the annual Eve of Haunted Destruction thrill show!

What to Expect at the Trunk or Treat

Gates at the Dirt Oval will open at 3:00pm, and the Trunk or Treat festivities run until 6:00pm, giving everyone plenty of time to round up candy and visit all the decorated vehicles & displays before heading inside for the on-track excitement.

Local businesses, community groups, and volunteers will be in the parking lot & near the main entrance to the grandstands, each one decked out in a creative Halloween theme. Expect everything from ghostly graveyards to pirate ships to spider webs—whatever the imagination can dream up.

Where is the Trunk or Treat in Joliet?

Location: Dirt Oval @ Route 66 Raceway, 3200 S. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL

Tickets: Event ticket is not required, but you will have to pay parking of $5 to get into the festivities. You’ll probably want tickets to Eve of Destruction anyway!

Parking & accessibility: Arrive early to snag good parking and be ready before the Trunk or Treat opens. ADA parking & motorcycle parking are up-front!

Costume contest: Come dressed up! Make sure to get to the judging zone before 6:00pm underneath the grandstands if you want to participate. $1,000 up for grabs!

Road construction & traffic note: The I-80 Eastbound ramp from I-55 South is CLOSED until late 2026. If traveling from the Northwest, consider Route 30 or Route 6 as alternatives. Expect congestion on Route 53 South approaching the entrance to Dirt Oval 66.

This isn’t your average trunk-or-treat event. Combining traditional Halloween fun with racing, wreckage, and destruction makes the evening uniquely thrilling. Kids and adults alike get candy, costumes, and high-speed action—all in one place. Kids Power Wheels Racing, hay rides, pumpkin tossing, and the jaw-dropping extreme Trailer Race will give everyone in your group something to see & do!
