Fast Facts for Saturday’s Event

The season-ending Eve of Haunted Destruction is upon us! A full afternoon and evening of fun, fire, & full throttle destruction kicks-off at when gates open at 3:00pm this Saturday at Joliet’s Dirt Oval Route 66 Raceway! Here’s everything you need to know before you arrive. 

BUY TICKETS HERE or when you arrive! Activities will be throughout the concourse underneath the grandstands and in the grass lots, plus the main events of racing and wrecking on the track. Everything is included with your ticket to Eve of Haunted Destruction! No add-on costs or cash-grabbing for extra fun once you’re inside.

Biggest Halloween Bash at Dirt Oval

2026 marks the 10th Eve of Haunted Destruction event and it’s bigger than ever! The on-track action is scheduled to begin at 5:00pm with the kid’s Power Wheels races and concluding with the chaos of the figure-8 school bus race and extreme destruction in the figure-8 trailer race! 

Two groups of young speed demons in Power Wheels kick-off the event.

New for 2026: The “Dead End” haunted house will be open all night on the North end of the concourse.

• Hay rides for all ages & bounce house for the kids. 
• Roaming Halloween characters of the scary & friendly variety will be ready for photo opportunities.
• Largest Trunk or Treat to-date with 20+ participants registered. Bring the kids, wear your costumes, and arrive early to fill those candy buckets.
• Costume contest for all ages where you can win $25 – $1,500!
• A lights-out fireworks spooktacular right before the final races. 

Trunk or Treat will be located on north end of the property.

The lineup is packed with racing and demolition derbies: Backwards School Bus Racing, RV Demolition Derby, Compact Car Demolition Derby, Lawn Mower Demo Derby, and a Hearse Demo Derby – Yes, actual funeral cars battling it out to see who goes in the grave for good!

The RV demolition derby CRUNCHES like nothing else!

Full field of more than six compact cars expected to compete!The Extreme Trailer Race is pure carnage like you won’t believe in a path of destruction on the figure-8. Last trailer standing is the winner!

Anything they can find to pull behind a truck is a target for destruction!

Plus, Dirty “O” Spectator Cars racing on a modified oval, head-to-head Burnout Contests, and 1 vs 1 Dirt Drags with vehicles right off the road. Yes, you can sign-up to race on the Dirt Oval!

Location: Dirt Oval @ Route 66 Raceway, 3200 S. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL

Tickets: All activities and events are included with your ticket to Eve of Destruction! Get tickets now or go to the box office window at the main entrance.

Parking & accessibility: Arrive early for tailgating in the parking lot & Trunk or Treat at 3:00pm. Parking spots for ADA & motorcycles are in the front.

Road construction alert: Check your route and be aware of the on-going closures and detours in the Joliet area near the race track. More details on this page.

Dirt Oval 66 is not a cashless venue! We appreciate all forms of money. 

• Adults (ages 13+): $38
• Kids (ages 3-12): $23
• Reserved Seats in middle of the grandstand (applies to all ages): $41
• ADA/Wheelchair section: $38
• Ages 2 & younger are FREE in general admission. No ticket required.

Parking: $5 per vehicle at the entrance payable via cash or card.
